
Cynthia Silva, who was a media and communication major and business administration minor at Muhlenberg, joined the New York Times as a video journalist, covering breaking news on weekends.
Per the Times’ announcement: “She will be sourcing and pitching video clips for news stories, editing and scripting text-on-screen videos, setting up and monitoring live video feeds, and collaborating with desks across the newsroom. Cynthia comes from NBC’s ‘Nightly News,’ where she produced, edited, and shot stories in the field across politics, business, science, and culture. She has also produced stories and live segments for NBC News NOW. She reported for NBC News Digital, writing for the NBC Latino, NBC OUT, NBC Asian America, and NBC BLK diversity verticals. A multi-Emmy-nominated producer and native Spanish speaker, Cynthia specializes in breaking news coverage and engaging social video.”
