Annie McCormick ’01 has a lot of experience bringing Philadelphia’s stories to life as a reporter for 6abc. She spends her days in the field, finding the news from Pennsylvania’s largest city and explaining it to viewers.
McCormick, a communications major and music minor at Muhlenberg, incorporates her vocal training into the stories she tells: “You want to engage the viewer when you’re telling that story. You need to have a rhythm. You need to have a beat,” she says.
McCormick credits the well-rounded liberal arts education she received at Muhlenberg for helping her ask smart questions and think on her feet. And throughout her career, Muhlenberg connections have helped her advance, from early internships in photojournalism and newspapers to her decision to enter the world of broadcast journalism.
“One of the best takeaways that I have from Muhlenberg is I really felt like the staff there had a vested interest in what I was going to do next,” she says.
