Tom Buckelew and his wife have devoted their lives to the Fayette County Historical Society after his retirement as a professor emeritus (biology) at California University of Pennsylvania. Over the years, Tom has developed an antiques business, Beeson Hill Antiques, as a side gig and in the process, taught himself cabinet making skills. Tom has used those skills in restoring an 1850 tavern and has made more than a 100 pieces of period furniture for the society. Tom and his wife live in a 1905 house that they’ve spent 50 years restoring, complete with formal gardens (and no grass to cut).
