Eric Shafer continues his part-time work with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), traveling the West coast speaking about LIRS’ ministry of hospitality for refugees and immigrants. He and his wife, Kris, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November and are enjoying their new life at Pilgrim Place, a retirement community in Claremont, California.
