Tom Dunkel

Tom Dunkel is featured in the new Audible Original audio documentary Shadowball: Rise of the Black Athlete, an eight-part series narrated by Emmy Award-winning TV journalist Jemele Hill. Episode seven, “Hope Diamond,” is about an integrated semi-pro baseball team (led by future Hall of Fame pitcher Satchel Paige) that played in Bismarck, North Dakota, during the Great Depression. That team is the subject of Tom’s nonfiction book, Color Blind: The Forgotten Team That Broke Baseball’s Color Line, and he is one of the guest commentators in that episode.
